These recent sculptures can be seen as three-dimensional planes: barriers that separate space. Within the work there are shifts between transparency, translucency and opaqueness, all of which act as metaphors for visualizing and perceiving. Translucent barriers permit viewers to see only a portion of the opposite side, raising questions about the perception of truth, the ambiguity of being versus not being.
